The village green became occupied during my visit by the mobile library. The green is ornamented with a fine lamp standard, comprehensive road signs and a bus stop. The vintage stop-flag harks back to Bws Gwynedd, an organisation that was dismembered by the creation of the unitary authorities in 1996. It is a sad fact that Pydew lost its scheduled bus some years ago, replaced by a dial-a-ride that did not endure.
