A pair of non-boilered class 31s numbers 31271+31240 depart Rotherham with the summer Saturdays only 09.10 Paignton - Newcastle train on 11/8/84. Both these loco's were vacuum braked only (vo) at the time. The S O Blackpool - Sheffield (on this day) was worked by 37246 a no-heat Tinsley machine.
