Near Fairlieward (which is a farmhouse), the path shown here is signposted "Footpath to Haylie Brae onto Gogoside". It leads gently uphill between fields until it reaches an iron gate in a stone wall, at which point the path almost doubles back upon itself: it turns abruptly to the south-west, following the line of the stone wall.
