Looking up Chalk Lane towards the Downs, from the junction with public footpath Epsom & Ewell 30 (which crosses horse grazing to join Ashley Road). Chalk Lane has been closed to through traffic since 1922 (although during the rush hour it does not always seem so), and is much used by walkers, cyclists and horse-riders heading for the Downs.
