This plaque has been erected on a small green between Liverpool Road and Old Liverpool Road. This plaque shows the victims of the Great War of 1914-18; there is a separate plaque added for the 1938-45 war, but the original plaque has been amended by the addition, slightly out of line, of an 'S' to the word 'WAR'. A particular feature of the memorial is that each name has the department for which they worked shown. Also there is no distinction of rank made between the individuals. A close up view highlights the variety of departments operated Image
