Neighbourhood Ranking History
Contains public sector information licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0.
Neighbourhoods are compared only within the same Police Force.
Different forces have different budgets and priorities and even within the same force area caution should be excercised when comparing different neighbourhoods as again, different priorities and resources are deployed to different types of area such as inner city and rural.
Where neighbourhoods can be compared is against themselves, month by month to determine if crime is increasing or decreasing and if so, which types of crime are being reported.
Similar adjoining neighbourhoods can be compared if they are of a similar make-up.
Hampshire Constabulary is one of the biggest forces in the country, whose purpose is to deliver SAFER communities. We police over 1,500 square miles; are home to a significant transport network including the M27 and M3, key rail hubs and two international airports; and critical national infrastructure.

The beat area of 'Eastleigh Central' comprises of the main shopping precinct in the town including the Swan Centre and Vue cinema complex. The residential roads surrounding the town centre as far South as Derby Road, Campbell Road, the railway yards and East as far as The Hub.
Many of the shops and pubs within the town centre are part of the shop / pub watch initiative. A modern CCTV system covers a large proportion of the town centre. The beat is covered by three police officers and two police community support officers, assisted by special constables and volunteers.
The beat is one of the busiest within the Eastleigh District, with many businesses, residents and visitors, yet still Eastleigh has low crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB). The Safer Neighbourhoods team for this area are passionate about reducing crime and ASB, protecting vulnerable people and targeting those who commit crime.
You can influence local priorities by attending a beat surgery or public meeting, by email, web or call 101.
