Paul Mottram (Police Constable)

Daniel Welch (Inspector)

Welcome to your Bolton North neighbourhood pages.

I am Inspector Lisa Clarke and have ownership of neighbourhood policing for Queens Park and Central, Halliwell, Smithills, Astley Bridge, Tonge with The Haulgh, Breightmet, Bromley Cross and Bradshaw.

I joined Greater Manchester Police 24 years ago having completed my degree and spent some time travelling the world. I started on the Wigan Division and since then have worked in a variety of uniform and detective roles in Salford, Bolton and at the force training school where I was promoted to the rank of Inspector. As I missed being at the heart of policing I seized the opportunity to move back to Bolton in October 2022 to have responsibility for Bolton North Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Having grown up in the area and lived here for the last 25 years, I can honestly say it is my perfect role as I have a genuine passion for making Bolton North a safe and desirable place to live and work. Myself and my team of officers understand the current concerns and will work hard with our partners to resolve the issues that affect our communities. It is as important to us as it is to you.

On these pages you will find priorities in our area that we continue to work on. We will update these priorities with the action we have taken to remedy them.

We can’t do this without you, so we have launched an alert system called Bee in the loop which will enable us to contact you directly about these priorities. It will also enable you to speak to officers on the ground, where you live, so you can tell us what matters most to you.

You can sign up at www.beeintheloop.co.uk

If this isn’t for you, you can also see our scheduled meetings. You will get to speak to an officer directly.

I’m Danny Welch, Inspector, covering Eccles, Barton, Winton (excluding the Winton estate), Irlam and Cadishead

I’ve worked for GMP for a number of years covering various areas and in a variety of roles.

I’m passionate about making our community safe and free of crime.

I started my career 20 years ago and have worked my way through to Inspector. I have a degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice, and I have dedicated my service to every area of Policing, including crime investigation, protecting vulnerable people and preventing/ reducing crime.

I understand the issues in our areas are theft, burglary, drug dealing and anti- social behaviour.

My officers and staff are working day and night to ensure that you feel safe in the community, we target our known suspects robustly, and be rest assured that victims of crime will be offered a level of service that I would personally expect, if I was in the same position.

We continue to try and solve the issues in our community, we are working tirelessly by conducting drug warrants, utilising our partnership network to solve long standing problems, proactively arresting criminals, working with the local community to educate and prevent crime. Looking out for the most vulnerable individuals and ensuring that they are not exposed to criminal behaviour.

We continue to work with you all by engaging with our partner agencies, attending community forums and PACT meetings. Having useful dialogue with neighbourhood watch groups and listening to your views on what is important and how we should be Policing within the legal framework.
