SELF REGULATION OF BANKS AND BUILDING SOCIETIES (25 February 1993)
Motion Details
That this House, recognising the inadequacies of the present system of self-regulation of banks and building societies, expresses grave concern at the continual plight of elderly home income plan holders and their difficulties in obtaining compensation; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to ensure that mortgages are treated as investments for the purposes of the Financial Services Act 1986.
