PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
HOMOSEXUALITY AND THE ARMED SERVICES (1 February 1993)
Motion Details
That this House notes that the British Armed Forces are amongst the few remaining major military forces which outlaw homosexuality; believes that it is illogical to trust British services personnel with weapons of mass destruction but not with their own sexuality; welcomes the initiative by President Clinton to rectify this injustice in the United States of America; and calls upon Her Majesty's Government to amend Ministry of Defence regulations to comply with EC anti-discrimination legislation, United Kingdom civilian law and the policies of our major military allies.
