PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CONDUCT OF THE GOVERNMENT AND THE WELSH NATIONALIST PARTY (9 March 1993)
Motion Details
That this House expresses its utter contempt for the failed tactics of backstairs collusion between government business managers and the Secretary of State for Wales on the one hand and the four Welsh Nationalist honourable Members on the other, to exchange those four votes in support of the losing government side in the division lobby on 8th March in return for the promise of one Welsh Nationalist local councillor among the Welsh section of the United Kingdom delegation to the Committee of the European Regions plus an ill-defined forum to which that Welsh section of the United Kingdom delegation to that Committee could report back, thereby creating in parallel with the Secretary of State's proposed new Welsh Economic Council a new Welsh Euro Forum, in the apparent but groundless belief that two new talking shops equals one new Welsh Assembly democratically elected, which all Welsh Nationalist voters and supporters previously thought that party stood for.
