PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
CONDUCT OF SCOTTISH NATIONAL PARTY HON. MEMBERS (8 March 1993)
Motion Details
That this House recalls the tearing up of telegrams from the Clydeside Shipyard shop stewards on the floor of the House by Scottish National Party honourable Members of Parliament in 1975, the role of the Scottish National Party in securing the defeat of the Labour Government in 1979 and the hypocritical calls of the Scottish National Party for a united Scottish opposition; notes with distaste their disgraceful attempt to shore up the Tories in their hour of need over Maastricht, when there are 260,000 people in Scotland unemployed; regards their claims to have gained concessions over the Committee of the Regions as deluded self-aggrandisement; and calls on the honourable Member for Banff and Buchan to do the decent thing and resign.
