PARLIAMENTARY EARLY DAY MOTION
FUTURE OF COMMUNITY PHARMACIES (21 June 1993)
Motion Details
That this House condemns the failure of Her Majesty's Government to properly address the continuing and growing threat to thousands of local pharmacies; is alarmed at the increasing drugs debt imposed upon community pharmacies which this year amounts to an extra ú260 million; recognises the essential services which local pharmacies provide to their surrounding communities; strongly supports the view that there is a need for a review body for pharmacists comparable with those of other primary health care professions; and urges Her Majesty's Government to urgently resolve the question of pharmaceutical remuneration structure with specific reference to the funding of the NHS drugs debt.
