Gardens at Prospect Drive
These 1950s houses are built over the parterres of the former 19th century Prospect House which was the country home of Samuel Brookes, calico printer, banker and philanthropist: a man reputed to have been one of the wealthiest in Manchester, whose son became MP for Altrincham.

Looking good but tasting awful
White grapes grown in Cheshire after a very mild winter and hot summer. Variety unknown but certainly not for eating. (Perhaps the wine will be better.)
