Wheal Busy Chapel
The Bible Christian chapel is dated 1863. It stands along the track shown in Image "Arguably the best surviving complete example of the simple type of wayside chapel in Cornwall and one of only 6 examples of its type to retain all the original fittings. The unusual and beautiful fittings are quite remarkable." http://www.imagesofengland.org.uk/Details/Default.aspx?id=473911&mode=adv

Track to Leigham Farm - with Telephone Box
The granite post to the right of the telephone box is one of the many mining heritage signposts. This one is on the coast-to-coast route and points the way to Portreath.

Steam from Penzance
A return steam excursion from Penzance is photographed approaching the former station at Chacewater which was once located behind the photographer. Here you could once change for Perranporth and Newquay. Not now though, the station has long gone, shut under the plans of Beeching. As did the Perranporth railway to Newquay. Some of the station buildings survived into the 1980s with a couple of sidings which were still used for cement traffic but now you would never know a station once existed here.

The Old Chacewater Station
The Penzance bound platform still survives although the station is unused. It used to be the start of the Perranporth branch line until it was closed in 1963 when this station was also closed to passenger traffic.
