Old Milestone by A382, Newton Road, Bovey Heath
Carved stone post by the A382, in parish of Bovey Tracey (Teignbridge District), Newton Road, Bovey Straights, just North of pull-in, on grass verge, on West side of road. Newton detail granite square, erected by the Newton Bushell turnpike trust in the 19th century. Inscription reads:- NEWTON 4.4.0. ----- BOVEY 1.6.0. ----- MORETON 8.2.0. Rivet benchmark on top. Bovey Heathfield
Bovey Heathfield became Devon Wildlife Trust’s first ‘Community Nature Reserve’ after purchase in September 2002. It lies on the outskirts of Bovey Tracey and Heathfield in South Devon.

Bovey Heathfield - lowland heath
Heavily damaged by scrambling bikes and 4 wheel drives, this area is slowly on the mend. This is looking towards a small pond with Dartmoor in the distance. One can really see the damage caused by looking at this area on "google earth."
