Saltmoor Bridge replacement
For the first time since 1850 there is no railway bridge over the Teme at Ashford Carbonel. As soon as the old bridge (hanging above the river here in the way that bricks don't) was removed, a new deck was placed on already built buttresses.

Saltmoor Bridge replacement
The 1850 cast iron bridge over the Teme at Ashford Carbonel/Ashford Bowdler was replaced in 2014. The old bridge was lifted out on the morning of 27th December and it is hoped that the new bridge will be installed later in the day. Thanks to the Ludlow bypass (A49) it was easy to get close to the action.
