Telephone box - High Street, Wem
These days it seems quite remarkable to find a telephone box that contains a working telephone, but this one at the western end of Wem's High Street, close to the junction with The Grove, has one. There is a reflection of the adjacent timber-framed Dial Cottage and two posters campaigning against the proposed Shrewsbury north-west relief road.

High Street, Wem
A girl strolls along the western end of Wem's High Street, somewhat unnecessarily wearing her face covering given that she is outdoors, but there is only one vehicle in sight. This is looking towards the town centre and the top of the tower of St Peter and St Paul's church is visible.

Home Zone, The Grove, Wem
Viewed from the corner of High Street. The Home Zone website states that the Home Zone concept, called woonerf, was pioneered in the Netherlands in the 1970s, since when many countries have successfully transferred the core concepts and created their own safe areas. Home Zones are an attempt to strike a balance between vehicular traffic and everyone else who uses the street - pedestrians, cyclists, business people and residents.
