Typical Victorian South London terraced house
This example is in Harbut Road near Clapham Junction but similar examples can be found across much of inner South London. Stock brick, bay windows and a little decoration around the porch and windows feature, with a space above the downstairs window for a house name to be added. The porch provides a little shelter and the front 'garden' only has enough space for a few plant pots, or more commonly nowadays somewhere to keep the wheelie bins. Finally when these houses were built in the 19th century nobody could imagine how in the future the occupants would have one or more personal means of transportation - hence the streets now are crammed with cars and every space is taken up.

Railway between Wandsworth and Clapham Junction
There is a bend in the tracks, more evident on larger scale maps than at 1:50,000, at TQ266753. The railway at this point has four running lines "paired by speed" (fast tracks on the left, slow tracks on the right for stopping trains), plus a siding on the south side of the formation. In this view, two Southwestern trains are passing. Desiro unit HC 450544 (left) on an 'up' service (towards Waterloo) that had been delayed by 40 minutes due to a lightning strike, and an unidentified class 455 on a down service.
