Iron Age hillfort, Castle Hill, Blunsdon St Andrew
Castle Hill is a univallate Iron Age hillfort enclosing 7.5 acres constructed on a Corallian escarpment overlooking the Upper Thames valley. A magnetometer survey during 2004 indicated possible grain storage pits. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, SMR No. SU19SE200. http://history.wiltshire.gov.uk/smr/getsmr.php?id=16488

Blunsdon Hill fort at sunset, Blunsdon, Swindon
Because of a large fire in a farmyard north of here, there was quite a lot of smoke in the air, which may have contributed to the filtering of the light to produce this reddish effect in the sky

Digging a new grave at Blunsdon Cemetery
The gravedigger goes about his work very professionally and with great care. The grave was being dug for my mother, whose funeral would take place the following day.
