Detached House, Holme Lane, Hillsborough, Sheffield
There aren't many detached houses in this area of Hillsborough ... this is a fine example ... and was the Doctor's House and Surgery some years back. The wires in the picture are part of the Supertram system.

Coach Entrance, Holme Lane, Hillsborough, Sheffield
Judging by the date of the buildings, this was an entrance for Horses as well as Coaches! Now used by cars to get to the back yard.

Hillsborough Place and Holme Lane Junction, Hillsborough, Sheffield
As shown on the 1903 Sheffield Map ... Terraced houses were on the site of this junction, running from the house (behind the advertising poster) and towards the photographer position. Hillsborough Place didn't exist in 1903 but the houses on the now named street would have been built when Hillsborough Road was opened and joined up with Holme Lane. Image Image Image

Walkley Lane, Hillsborough, Sheffield.
Formerly a John Smith’s tied house during the 1980s “The Freemason's Arms” became “The Riverside” in 2013 because of its proximity to the River Loxley. This iron bridge, dating from the early C20th, was refurbished in 2014. The A6101 (a.k.a. Holme Lane) lies 10 metres or so behind the photographer.

A view towards Malin Bridge from the iron bridge that carries Walkley Lane across the River Loxley. The fencing on the left forms part of the boundary of "The Riverside" public house's terraced seating area. On the right, and on the other side of the industrial buildings, lies the A6101 (a.k.a Holme Lane) that links Hillsborough with Malin Bridge. "The Riverside" was known as “The Freemason's Arms” until 2013.
