The footpaths on the Isle of Wight are generally very well signposted. I nearly missed this one though, it runs right through the back yards of a few cottages.

This path runs through the back gardens of some houses. There is an awkward tree root here (foreground). To make it visible but to prevent the colour being too intrusive it has been painted fluorescent lime green.

The footpath (Freshwater Way) runs from the outskirts of Freshwater, in the direction of Freshwater Bay. At this location, the right of way runs through the garden of the house, the gate being to the left of the blue shed.

Old Milestone by the A3055, School Green Road, Freshwater parish
Carved stone post by the A3055, in parish of FRESHWATER (District), Freshwater, on the verge under tree, opposite road to primary school. Newport tombstone, erected by the Isle of Wight Highways turnpike trust in the 19th century.

School Green Road, Freshwater
School Green Road in the village of Freshwater on the Isle of Wight. This road forms part of the route of the A3055 road.
The building beyond the roundabout is currently a clothing shop, although it has previously been a Co-op convenience store. It is built on the site of Freshwater railway station, which closed in 1953.
