Oxford North Junction
The point of divergence for the former line to Cambridge is just under one mile north of Oxford station, though that route and the main line north continue alongside for some distance further, a relic of the parallel approaches of the Great Western and London & North Western Railways to separate stations in Oxford.

Oxford New North Junction
A parcels train from Bletchley leaves the former LNW route a short distance north of Oxford. Photographed very early on a June morning in 1980, this was, my memory tells me, the only daily scheduled through train from Bletchley at the time.

Old Bridge Marker by the A420 on Osney Bridge, Oxford
Bridge Marker on the south side of the A420 Botley Road, Oxford. Bolted to the parapet of Osney Bridge, River Thames or Isis, with panels on the inner and outer sides of the parapet. OX_OX27abr is fixed to the opposite parapet, see https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/7315502. The coat of arms represents the Oxford Local Board of Health, who paid for the bridge to be rebuilt in 1888 to 1889. The Board included representatives of the university, corporation and ratepayers and the shield displays the coats of arms of the university, on the left, and the city, on the right.
