Steeple Barton: Church of St Mary
Steeple Barton was once a large village, but its inhabitants were greatly reduced during an outbreak of plague, many survivors moving to Middle Barton. The church has a fine 15th century tower, but alas, no steeple! No doubt someone can explain...

St Mary's Church, Steeple Barton
On a slope overlooking the valley of the small River Dorn, St Mary's is quite a large church for the little hamlet of Steeple Barton. Most of its parishioners are in Middle Barton, a nearby village along a busier road.
