The old Wicklewood Workhouse in Hospital Road
The workhouse or House of Industry as it is sometimes called served the Forehoe Hundred. which incorporated the following parishes: Barford, Barnham Broom, Bawburgh, Bowthorpe, Brandon Parva, Carleton-Forehoe, Colton, Costessey, Coston, Crownthorpe, Deopham, Easton, Hackford, Hingham, Kimberley, Marlingford, Morley St Botolph, Morley St Peter, Runhall, Welborne, Wicklewood, Wramplingham and Wymondham.
This view is from the southeast.
Built in 1776 at great cost, it has a staggering twenty-one bay southeast front, with the end pairs of bays projecting as wings and the central five projecting under a pediment. Despite being such a long building it only has two storeys, although many later additions have been made. This large building has now been converted into housing.

Former workhouse, Wicklewood
Built in 1777 and altered by John Brown in 1836. Later a school, it was converted to housing in 1994-95. Grade II listed.

Memorial at Wicklewood Workhouse marking the burial ground
It is inscribed, "This enclosure was formerly the burial ground of this institution in memory of those who are buried herein. The Forehoe Guardians place this stone."
