Facadism in Newark
This former maltings has been converted to offices. The building has been hollowed out with the facades retained. This generally works well but on this side the need to provide a vehicle entrance has resulted in the chute looking as if it has just been stuck on as a piece of decoration.

The Jubilee Bridge, Newark-on-Trent
As its name suggests, Jubilee Bridge was built in the year of Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee year (2002). The bridge is a cable-stayed construction which needs only one tower for normal-sized spans and is becoming a popular design in preference to the traditional suspension bridge design which requires towers on both banks which are anchored to the ground.
