Sutton Parkway Station, under construction 1995
View SE from B6021 bridge, towards Nottingham on the new Robin Hood Line, six months before the station opened (20/11/95), on the ex-Midland Nottingham - Mansfield - Worksop line, closed 12/10/64 but resurrected (with some deviations) as the Robin Hood Line, Nottingham - Newstead 8/5/93, on to Mansfield Woodhouse 20/11/95, to Worksop 6/98. This new station was built on a site about halfway between the former Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Sutton Junction stations. (Cf. Image]).

Sutton Parkway station
Looking towards Mansfield and Worksop from the south end of platform 1. The distinctive style of stations built or refurbished for the reopening of the Robin Hood Line between Nottingham and Worksop in the 1990s is evident, with the characteristic lamps and brick platform surface incorporating the line's double arrow logo. This station was completely new, no station having existed here previously.
