Mist in Tynedale
Pockets of mist lurk in the valleys in this scene captured from North Acomb Farm. The A69 main road can be seen in the floor of the valley below. Just beyond the bend is Brockbushes roundabout at the junction with the A68.

Blue-flowered crop of Scorpion weed (Phacelia tanacetifolia)
Many thanks to davidbr on the forum of http://www.wildaboutbritain.co.uk/ for identifying the plant for me. The flowers of this North American annual Image are very attractive to insects and were alive with bumblebees. It has likely been grown for this purpose, to produce an organic green manure or to attract hoverflies for biological control of pest species http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phacelia_tanacetifolia
