Stasi barber's and hairdresser's, Junction Road, Archway
One does wonder what a hairdresser run by the Stasi would be like: you walk in and the barber already knows how you like your hair because your neighbours all told him.

St John's Tavern, Junction Road
Seen from Hargrave Park. The reflections of the evening sky in the dark-tinted windows were what first caught my eye - but what a stylish job they've made of refurbishing this Victorian building! Apparently both public and private investment were involved, the intention being to rehabilitate a local landmark and set a new standard in a street which had become rather dowdy: http://www.islington.gov.uk/publicrecords/library/Environmental-protection/Information/Factsheets/2011-2012/(2012-03-03)-Completed-Grant-Project-St-John's-Tavern.pdf I reckon they've done the area proud. My only quibble would be that the place is so stylish (in such a demure sort of way) that I didn't realise it was still a pub - I imagined it had been converted for residential use, or even offices.
