Hoxton: Linale House, Wenlock Barn Estate, N1
Linale House on the left was the first block of post-war council flats to be opened on the then new Wenlock Barn Estate in 1949. The building is named after the then Mayor of the Metropolitan Borough of Shoreditch, Alderman R G Linale.
The road in front is Murray Grove. The Ordnance Survey map of 1882 shows this as Murray Street, and lined on either side with Victorian terraced housing.

Hoxton: Shepherdess Walk Buildings, Underwood Row, N1
I imagine it is some time since the last shepherdess walked down this street with her flock. Nonetheless these are her buildings, a former Edwardian factory in fact, completely refurbished from a derelict state in the 1990s, and now used as small business units.
