Blackburn Street
Prior to the construction of the town centre bypass (Pilkington Way) in the 1980s. Blackburn Street was the main (only?) route through the town and was often choked with traffic. Retail trade has diminished considerably since the introduction of the bypass, and the road is now very quiet.
