72 and 73 The Elms, South Park, Lincoln
72, Gothic House in at least part of the 20th century, was built for Robert Barker by architects Bellamy and Hardy around 1872 although Whites 1872 directory has no South Park street list. Directories list; 1885-89 has a Francis Delaval Walsh listed on South Park with no house name, 1896-1909 possibly Mrs Walsh no house name given but listed next to The Elms, 1913-1919 Joseph Winter. Between sales in 2010 and 2015 the property seems to have been refurbished, gaining a Gymnasium, music room and workshop in the basement. Number 73, The Elms and in the 1920s and 1930s Towerhurst, was built for J B Richardson, probably also by Bellamy and Hardy around 1873. Directories list; 1885-89 John Richardson City Magistrate, 1896 John Richardson is listed as a Magistrate at this address but Hugh Woodburn is in the street list as being in The Elms, 1905-1919 John Richardson.

69 and 70 South Park, Lincoln
Pair of semi-detached late 19th century houses built by George Dixon, architects Bellamy and Hardy. Unnumbered into the 20th century they were probably known as Kilcreggan (69) and Felgate (70) for part of the 20th century. The directories don't always give house names but as far as I can tell they list; for 69, 1896 has no one listed and that hinders tracing further back, 1905-1909 Albert Ellison Rogers, 1913-1919 John Pring. For 70, 1885-1919 Alfred Fotherby.

Alexander House, 68 South Park, Lincoln
George Wilkinson built around 1879. Unnumbered into the 20th century it seems to be previously known as Kilcreggan house for part of the 20th century. On that basis, the directories list; 1896 Alex Smith, 1905-1919 George William Briggs. I can't locate a Smith or Kilcreggan on South Park prior to 1896.

Eastholme Care Home, 74 and 75 South Park, Lincoln
Originally a pair of semi-detached houses built by George Wilkinson possibly around 1871. 74 was converted to a maternity home in 1950 and from 1961 it was Eastholme Nursing Home, presumably at that time encompassing 74 and 75 and shown as such on the 1967 OS map. It was unnumbered into the 20th century and the two houses were named Westholme and Eastholme. Directories list; Westholme 1885-89 can't locate an entry, 1896 Henry March, 1905-13 Miss Ninian Hill, 1919 Walter A Wilkinson; Eastholme 1889-96 Rev. Robert Markham Hill M.A. head master Middle School, 1905-19 Frederick Higgs.

South Park Avenue
Towards the end of the nineteenth century this was a much sought after residential district with views across South Common. Some houses are now in institutional use but many, like these, are still residential.

76 South Park, Lincoln
Known as Hillside possibly from 1870 and not numbered until well into the 20th century, local directories tell us of the following residents; 1877-99 George Wilkinson who had a stable and carriage house added in 1883 by builder J Homes that was removed in the 1960s, 1901-03 no one listed, 1905-07 H F L Orcutt, 1911-13 no one listed, 1919 William T Bell O.B.E. and in 1963 South Park Hotel. By 1975 it was the offices of Parsons Bros and Snape, coal merchants although it seems that Brownbridge & Co. Ltd. was registered here in 1974. In 1998 a change of use was granted to a Chinese Restaurant (possibly called Ting Ting?) with a further change to allow take-away under a new user in 2001. A further change was granted in 2003 to a 20 bed hostel and in October 2009 conversion to 10 flats, but since at least 2009 Ample Financial Services appear to have offices here and Shire Timber Group list 76a, Ample House as their Lincoln office.
