River Witham at St.Mark's
The River Witham looking north towards the Brayford Pool. All this area used to be railway sidings and St.Mark's station, now developed for shopping and the University of Lincoln. The brick building just beyond the trees is the University library, the cathedral looks down on everything in Lincoln !

Viking Lincoln
Dedication stone set in the west wall of the tower of St.Mary le Wigford church. Carved on a Roman tombstone it translates "Ertig had me built and endowed to the glory of Christ and St.Mary"

Homer House, Monson Street, Lincoln
A cut above your average 1970s office block, by Frederick Gibberd & Partners, 1973. Strong vertical accents, all in red brick. Another range is set back slightly from the street, just left of shot. Occupied by LEAP, "a housing and support service for vulnerable people".

Unitarian Chapel
On the corner of High Street and Monson Street, the Unitarian Chapel has a red brick core built in 1725 extensively restored and added to in the early 1900s. Inside, two sturdy wooden pillars support the roof ... traditionally said to be former ship's masts.
