Bangor Station
This large ex-LNWR built station is situated between two tunnels as it crosses the valley. This view is looking in the "up" direction, SE as the line heads towards Chester.

The west end of Bangor Station, 1962
An express freight hauled by Royal Scot locomotive 46150 heads towards Belmont Tunnel on the down through line. These locomotives were the mainstay of express passenger work on the north Wales coast line but had to take their turn on lesser work on occasion.
Bangor Station lies between two ridges with tunnels at both ends of the station.
