Santa Checking His Little Black Book by Gaslight.
I caught Santa reviewing his little book in Llandudno Junction, probably planning his delivery round about 2 weeks before Christmas. He appears here every year!

Welsh Mountain Pony
"As part of the planning conditions for their new office the Welsh Assembly Government was required to provide a piece of external public art at the site. Renowned sculptor Sally Matthews was chosen to be the artist following a selection process. Following consultation with the local community, including taking part in the Open Day at the site of the office in June 2009 and visiting local schools, Sally chose to make a sculpture of a Welsh mountain pony. The sculpture was unveiled by Business and Budget Minister Jane Hutt on 17 June 2010." Quoted from the website of the Welsh Assembly Government, with acknowledgement.

Now complete and operational. All mod cons - even the local bus has been diverted onto the site for pick-ups and drop-offs.

Welsh Government office 2
When the new North Wales office of the Welsh Government was designed, great efforts were made to ensure an iconic outcome. Clad in 2470 square metres of heather-purple slate from the Penrhyn Quarry Image, the building evokes the galleries of a slate quarry and colour variations suggest the strata of the rock from which it is 'hewn'. The colour is offset by a green patina on copper alloy used for external features such as the 'brises-soleil', and a blue tinted glass in the screens at the ends of the galleries. The water space is an attenuation pond to collect rainwater runoff from the site and provide a thermal reservoir for air-conditioning. Public access to the grounds is not permitted, and the image was taken and published with the explicit permission of the Communication Team of the Welsh Government.

Just three of the car marques available
This part of Llandudno Junction has become known as car capital city. I am standing at the entrance to the VW showroom. As a result of the pandemic Audi servicing is now dealt with by VW. New and second hand cars are available by digital means and it's almost 'click and collect'. Mercedes, Dacia, Renault and Ford are nearby. Years ago this was the site of the Hotpoint factory. Note in the background the Carneddau is topped with snow.
