Ordnance Survey documents indicate that in 1965 a benchmark levelled at 84.704m above Newlyn Datum was verified on the road end of the party wall at the right hand side of the entrance to the nearest house (left of the wooden gates)

London Road, Leicester
A solitary cyclist on the A6 approaches the roundabout that could take her/him straight onwards through the Stonegate area of the city, and after that, towards Oadby. On the right is Victoria Park Road (the B568) that runs parallel with the northern boundary of the park. The city centre lies 5-6 minutes drive away behind the photographer.
