View South along Berry Street from the corner of Bold Place.
The building with a cupola in the background is now known as "The Black-E" and is a community arts centre. Previously, it was the Great George Street Congregational Chapel which, because of its soot blackened walls and predominantly Afro-Caribbean congregation, was fondly known as "The Blackie". 21st century political correctness has demanded that the name be changed to "The Black-E".

E-scooter at St Luke's Place
Looking down Berry Street, the e-scooter is an official rental item, managed by VOI on behalf of Liverpool City Council. No doubt the rider possesses at least a provisional driving licence, as is mandatory, even if unwisely not using the recommended cycling helmet.

Banksy's cat/rat on the White House pub?
The White House pub is a grade II listed building on the corner of Berry Street and Duke Street http://list.english-heritage.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1390945
For some years now the Berry Street wall of the pub has been adorned with a mural claimed to be by the renowned graffiti artist Banksy, and the creature has been variously described as a cat or a rat. On the 7th January 2010 the BBC North West Tonight programme reported that the building had been bought and that the new owners proposed a £200,000 refurbishment programme. Part of the design is on the boarding over the window so it is said that this will have to be removed. The programme referred to the design as a rat.

On the corner of Duke Street, Liverpool
A couple wait to cross the road, watched by Banksy's cat. The road sign is bilingual, in English and Chinese, as we are in Liverpool's Chinatown.
