Carnegie Library And Kinross Town Hall
Both these buildings are closed and up for sale. The library was built in 1905 and closed in 2001 after dry rot was discovered in the structure of the building. The Kinross Museum that occupied part of the library was closed in 1996 when Perth and Kinross Council withdrew funding. The Council also moved its social work staff out of the town hall in 1996. The intention was to provide a library and the town hall facilities in a new High School. The town hall was advertised for sale in 2003. There is much debate ongoing locally about the situation and pressure is being put on the council to renovate the buildings for community use.
