Adam Smith Close, Kirkcaldy
One of the oldest parts of Kirkcaldy, Adam Smith Close (named after the 18th century economist who wrote ''The Wealth of Nations'') is a narrow alley (average width just over one metre) the entrance to which can be seen here between The Pet Shop and a beauty parlour. It runs from the High Street (where this photo was taken) to the Esplanade. Kirkcaldy Leisure Centre
Opened in late 2013 Kirkcaldy's new Leisure and Sports Centre incorporates a swimming pool, gym, cafe, sports hall, aerobics studio, steam room, sauna and children's play area. Located on the Esplanade it is built on the site of a former car park.
