If interested in the history of telephones this is a must visit, highly recommended. The gentleman who owns the museum gives a full explanation of all the works from the late 18 hundreds to the present day.

Paddy Mayne was the original Second-in-Command of the regiment. He cultivated a reputation for fearless leadership and the use of pioneering tactics.

SASR dedication cairn at Darvel
This cairn, situated on the west side of Burn Road, is dedicated to the 1st Special Air Service Regiment who were stationed at Darvel in 1944. It was unveiled by Provost James Boyd on Saturday 27th October 2001. The inscription reads:-
