The Beautiful South
Grafton Street in Hull, where the band The Beautiful South were formed from the wreckage of The Housemartins. Front man Paul Heaton used to live here and the Grafton Hotel (left of picture) was a favourite watering hole for both bands, providing inspiration for some of their lyrics. The Beautiful South's 1989 album 'Choke' contains a track called 'The Rising of Grafton Street'.
