"You are standing in the ditch of Hereford's defences believed to have first been built around AD1189".

Here is the John Haider Building in Hereford, built in 1933 as the John Venn Building by H. E. Bettington. This is one of my least favourite buildings in Hereford, and the text on the south entrance is falling apart!
