Track to Sands House Lane
This is the start of a recently re-surfaced track that leads from Blackmoorfoot Road to Sands House Lane. The new crushed sandstone surface finishes at the end of the "park home" type development by the edge of Moorfield Quarry. Castle Hill and Victoria Tower can be seen on the horizon far right of shot.

Threshold of Runway 25, Crosland Moor Airfield, Huddersfield
Plentiful supply of windflowers along the runway edge, behind which is a deep quarry.
The arrows and line on the runway indicate a displaced threshold, i.e. do not land before the line. This is because there is a quarry under the approach and immediately off the end of the runway, causing potentially hazardous conditions and turbulence.
