Newly built flats beside the station. I'm not a big fan of modern buildings, but I think the bricks, used here, look particularly attractive.

Virginia Water railway station, Surrey, 2011
Opened in 1856 by the London & South Western Railway on the line from Staines to Reading. View south east from the old footbridge (replaced in 2018). The platforms to the left are for Weybridge, those to the right for Ascot and Reading. See Image for a 2019 view looking towards the new footbridge, Staines and London.

The Old Sanatorium
The former Holloway Sanatorium was built between 1873 - 1885 under the patronage of Thomas Holloway, a wealthy philanthropist who had made a fortune from Patent Medicines. Following closure by the NHS it was converted to housing and is now called Virginia Park. Slow train to Waterloo
Class 455 electric multiple unit no. 5857 waits on platform 3 of Virginia Water station to form the 15.24 stopping service to London Waterloo via Hounslow which takes over an hour for the 22 mile journey. Services from platform 3 on the route from Reading via Richmond are considerably quicker.
