Climbing the hill to Knaphill
From the Woking Borough Council web site: "Knaphill lies in the north west corner of the Borough. Prior to the development of the Goldsworth Park housing estate during the 1970s and 1980s, Knaphill was separated from the built up area of Woking. It is now however, part of the main built up area of the Borough."

Knaphill
Knaphill, as can be seen from the photograph, is indeed on a hill. Until the Goldsworth Park estate was built, the village of Knaphill was separated from Woking town centre but no longer - it is now part of a single urban sprawl. The village centre is decidedly suburban in character and unappealing.
