Blue Boy House, High Street, Hawkesbury Upton
This Grade II Listed house has a date stone for 1755. The forward projecting wing is thought to be a former malt house. Listed in 1952 as the Old Blue Boy Inn. In 1909 a survey listed the inn with owners as Clissold and Co. Nailsworth and occupied by Marion Lilly. Reportedly also at one time it was the residence of the local doctor. Directories I have don’t list it but it seems it was only regarded as a beerhouse with Charles Dix in the 1871 and 1881 census’ and 1891 to 1903 listings with Thomas Lilly Beerhouse Nailsworth Brewery.

You'll need to duck to use this footpath
The access off the High Street in Hawkesbury Upton is certainly restricted! The barriers prevent all but the lithest of walkers from slipping around them, but perhaps a particularly short one is safe enough.
