Wayside Cross, Ripple
On a triangle of grass at the road junction in the Uckinghall hamlet of Ripple village, Worcestershire. This view looks west to "Old Cross House". The road on the left is a dead end leading to the River Severn. The old shaft & base are contemporary, and medieval. Green triangle in Uckinghall
Until flood defences were erected some ten years ago this part of the village was subject to regular flooding from the nearby River Severn. This green road triangle has the remains of a medieval village cross in its centre. This is a recreation of the first picture taken in this grid square in 2005 Image Little changed other than the buildings on the left.
