Gloucester Road, Tewkesbury
I do not know what the red building is. Image found in Wikimedia commons also did not know. It could have possibly been Tewkesbury Grammar School at some stage. "Tewkesbury Grammar School was founded in 1576. It met in a chapel on the North side of Tewkesbury Abbey until 1862, when there were 32 boy pupils. In 1858 the Master, Mr Joseph Priestley, resigned because he was not given a free hand by the governing body. He started Abbey House School nearby. In 1899 the two schools were combined. It moved into new premises opposite the Abbey in 1906; they were designed for 50 boys but the school grew to 150 by 1952. The school then moved to new buildings in Southwick Park on the south side of the town. It closed in 1972 when comprehensive education was introduced in Tewkesbury. From 1910, the same board of governors controlled Tewkesbury Grammar School and Tewkesbury High School for Girls."

Coat of arms banners
Every summer buildings in Tewkesbury display banners of Lancastrians and Yorkists who fought in the battle of Tewkesbury in 1471. The Azure one in the foreground with the three chevrons Argent and crescent Sable is that of Sir John Lewkenor of Goringe and West Grinstead, Sussex. He fought for the Lancastrians and was killed in battle and is buried in Tewkesbury Abbey.

Tewkesbury Abbey gatehouse
The former grand entrance to the Abbey, dating from around 1500 and restored by James Medland in 1849-55. The present entrance to the Abbey at this point is the pathway to the left of the gatehouse, although most people can surely not resist taking a peep through the main archway.
