Milk tanker passing through Little Gorsley
Possibly on his way from Withymoor Farm and winding his way through the narrow lanes to the next pickup. Cotteswold Dairy Ltd are based in Tewkesbury/Cheltenham. An interesting timeline from the company's website: 1938: Company founder Harry Workman purchased a milk round from his brother-in-law and the business started its life as Spa Farm Dairy. 1943: The business relocated to premises in Cotteswold Road, Tewkesbury and changed its name to Cotteswold Dairy. 1961: Supply began in Cheltenham for the first time. 1963: The business relocated again to its present site at Northway Lane in Tewkesbury. 1965: Harry was joined at the business by his son Roger, who is now the Chairman and Managing Director of the company. 1991: Harry’s grandson George joined the company and is now the Production Director of the company. 1999: Cotteswold Dairy became the first dairy in the country to supply Organic milk in returnable glass bottles. 1999: Cotteswold Dairy achieved the Organic Farmers and Growers accreditation. 2005: BRC accreditation achieved. 2005: Purchase of Hyde Farm Dairy in Cheltenham. 2006: Awarded runner up in the Family Company of the year award for Cotswold Life Magazine. 2008: In May of this year, Cotteswold Dairy celebrated its 70th year in business. 2009: Our Organic milk won Silver at the Taste of the West Competition.
