Railway Terrace and Cookson Terrace, Lydney
Railway Terrace is the more modern of the two terraces. Cookson Terrace was built by the Severn & Wye Railway Company and was named after their chairman, Joseph Cookson. It has 9 gabled houses, number 5 being larger than the rest. This was the Railway Hotel until circa 1970. Number 7 was once a post office. Occupants of the houses would once have had a view across railway tracks to the basin in Lydney Harbour. Now they look onto small business units.
