A Beatles wall mural in Lydney
A wall mural of The Beatles on the wall of almshouses beside a path to Bathurst Park in Lydney. The Beatles played two concerts in Lydney at the Town Hall on 31 August and 1 September 1962, they certainly didn't look like this in 1962. In 1962, it was soon after Brian Epstein had got them into suits and set them on the road to success, their first single, 'Love Me Do' was released just over a month after their Lydney concerts.

Almshouses and War Memorial, Church Road, Lydney
In the 1920s Lord Bledisloe funded the construction of this group of four almshouses to be occupied predominantly by dependants of Lydney men killed in the Great War (First World War). The War Memorial https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/6424606 on the right was erected at the same time.
